Regional market from the Swabian Jura Biosphere region in the heart of Reutlingen
The neigschmeckt.Markt is one of the most important regional markets in Baden-Württemberg and offers a direct impression of what the Swabian Jura has to offer in terms of culinary delights and crafts. Organized by the Swabian Jura Biosphere region and the city of Reutlingen, it traditionally takes place on the last Sunday before the summer holidays in Baden-Württemberg — in 2026, this falls on July 19.
At at least 125 stalls, farmers, dairies, beekeepers, brewers, distilleries, bakeries, manufacturers, and craftspeople from the Biosphere region will present their products. The range is wide: Alb-Büffel salami and sausage, organic apple juice and cider, Swabian Maultaschen, sheep's, goat's, and Alb lentil cow's milk cheese, regional lentils and spelt, honey, liqueurs and brandies, wood-fired bread, essential oils, natural cosmetics, and much more. You can try everything, talk to the producers, and take home what you like.
The market extends over two central squares: the Stadtgarten (Charlottenstraße 60) and the Planie, both in close proximity to each other and in the heart of Reutlingen's city center. The atmosphere is family-friendly — benches under trees, live music in the Stadtgarten, craft demonstrations, and activities for children focused on nature and nutrition. Reutlingen is located directly on the northern edge of the Swabian Jura, in the district of Reutlingen — this makes the market a logical connection point between the city and the countryside.
The market focuses not only on enjoyment but also on raising awareness: stalls on environmental protection, climate protection, and sustainable nutrition are an integral part of the concept. You will learn from the actors of the Biosphere region why the Swabian Jura, with its orchards, juniper heaths, and shepherd farms, is one of the most species-rich cultural landscapes in Germany — and how you preserve a piece of it with every purchase.
The day begins at 10 am with an ecumenical church service before the official opening at 11 am. The program runs until 6 pm. Admission is €5 for adults, children under 12 get in free.
