Over 40 Years of Tradition — Old Town Festival on Lake Constance with Crafts, Street Art, Art Corner, and Children's Flea Market
The Radolfzell Old Town Festival is one of the most beautiful and largest city festivals on the western shores of Lake Constance. For over 40 years, it has taken place on the first weekend of September — an event that is part of the city's DNA. In 2026, Radolfzell will celebrate its 48th edition. On Saturday, September 12, from 11 AM to 10 PM, the entire old town — Seetorstraße, Marktplatz, Teggingerstraße, and the adjacent alleys — will transform into a festival and market mile.
Unlike purely catering-focused festivals, the Radolfzell Old Town Festival strongly emphasizes the creative and artisanal aspects:
This mix makes the festival a kind of 'living showcase' of Radolfzell's city culture — different from a classic Volksfest (popular festival) and with a distinctly more creative profile.
Two special areas define the festival:
Along Teggingerstraße, a large flea and antique market will take place on the same day — private vendors offering vintage clothing, vinyl records, books, antiques, and collectibles. An ideal complement to the Old Town Festival with a different character.
The city of Radolfzell celebrates a jubilee in 2026 (Radolfzell City Jubilee), which will also be reflected in the Old Town Festival: On Saturday, additional 'Time Travel Stations' will be set up, showcasing historical periods of Radolfzell's city history — Middle Ages, early modern period, industrialization, 20th century. Sunday (September 13) will feature a celebratory church service, procession, and historical activities — the jubilee focus thus extends throughout the entire weekend.
Radolfzell is the second-largest city on the western shore of Lake Constance (Untersee) in the district of Konstanz. With around 32,000 inhabitants, a medieval town center, the Münster Unserer Lieben Frau (Minster of Our Dear Lady), and its direct lakeside location, Radolfzell is one of the most beautiful cities on Lake Constance. You can reach Radolfzell by train from Konstanz in 15 minutes, from Singen in 10 minutes. The old town is entirely walkable.
By train to Radolfzell, a 5-minute walk to the old town. By car via the A 81, exit Singen, then B 33. Parking garages at the train station and at the market square.
Free. Food and drinks à la carte. Workshops in the Art-Plätzle partially charged for materials.
Saturday, September 12, from 11 AM to 10 PM. Jubilee special program on September 13 with celebratory church service.
