250 Years of Village History by the Water

On Saturday, June 13th, 2026, at 12 PM, a festival weekend begins in the Schorfheide district of Rosenbeck, celebrating the round birthday of a small village by the water: 250 Years of Rosenbeck. The village is located directly on the Rosenbeck lock, a historic hydraulic engineering structure in the Schorfheide region, and celebrates its anniversary on the expansive festival meadow by the water — until 1 AM. The residents of the district, the Gasthof zur Linde inn from nearby Schönerlinde, the dorfGestalten Eichhorst e.V. team, and the municipality of Schorfheide are involved in the festival.

Festival Opening at 12 PM

The festive opening ceremony at 12 PM, led by former mayor Schoknecht and the local festival committee, marks the official start. This evolves into a packed program running throughout the day, featuring stage acts, hands-on activities, a market, and catering — followed by a dance night from the evening hours until 1 AM.

Program Highlights

The stage schedule features several live acts: The band Sounds of Akkordia brings accordion-infused dance music to the stage, János an der Trompete provides the jazzy touch, and the band tranespotting rounds off the musical program. The children's dance group UNITED DANCE FAMILY presents their choreographies on stage. Another highlight: a fashion show spanning the decades. For families, there's archery, Clown Kaily entertains the youngest attendees, and the Flying Dogs present a dog show. A handicraft and market area with handmade textiles, pottery, and woodwork from regional vendors runs concurrently on the festival meadow from 12 PM to 6 PM.

Baking, Eating, and Celebrating

A special program item is the cheesecake baking contest with a silver spoon award for the most beautiful festival cheesecake — residents and guests are invited to submit their best creations. Catering is provided by the established Gasthof zur Linde (Schönerlinde) in cooperation with the dorfGestalten Eichhorst team: hearty classics, a cake buffet, and drinks. In the late afternoon, DJ Bodo takes over the stage and plays until 1 AM — a dance night right by the lock.

Rosenbeck and the Schorfheide Park

Rosenbeck is a district of the municipality of Schorfheide in the Barnim district and is located in the heart of the Schorfheide-Chorin UNESCO Biosphere Reserve — one of the largest contiguous forest areas in Brandenburg. The Rosenbeck lock on the Werbellin Canal has connected Lake Werbellin with Havel shipping for over 100 years. Those who wish to extend their festival visit can easily combine it with a trip to the nearby Lake Werbellin or a walk in the Schorfheide Nature Park. Arrival by car via the A 11 (Berlin–Szczecin) is straightforward, with parking available around the festival meadow.
