The Potsdam Autumn Run is a constant fixture in Brandenburg's autumn running calendar. The venue is the Max Planck Campus in Potsdam-Golm, the science district in western Potsdam with the University of Potsdam, the Max Planck Institutes, and several Fraunhofer facilities. The running route leads across the campus and along the Golmer Luch — flat, fast, perfect for personal bests.

Date and distances 2026

The 11th edition is announced in the strassenlauf.org calendar for 2026; the exact date (October 2026) will be published in good time by the organizer Impuls Sportveranstaltungen. Three distances are on the program:

• 9 km — Main run, start 10:30 a.m.
• 6.5 km — Short distance, start 10:30 a.m.
• 1 km children's run (up to 14 years) — start 10:00 a.m.

Route and character

The routes run across the science campus, through the adjacent residential area, and along the nature reserves at Golmer Luch. Flat profile, asphalt with short unpaved sections. Ideal for beginners and hobby runners looking for a fast autumn event in western Brandenburg.

Potsdam-Golm — a science city in the green

Potsdam-Golm has been developed since the 2000s into the western science and university district of the state capital Potsdam. It is home to the Max Planck Institutes for Colloids and Interfaces, for Molecular Plant Physiology, and for Gravitational Physics (Albert Einstein Institute). The University of Potsdam maintains its second campus in Golm. Those who combine the autumn run with a science excursion combine sport and district exploration.
