Stockum — District in City District 5

Stockum is a northern district of Düsseldorf in City District 5 and is one of the traditionally Catholic-influenced districts. It is home to the Aquazoo Löbbecke Museum, the Nordpark with the Japanese EKŌ-Haus, the Rheinpark Golzheim, and the Messe Düsseldorf exhibition center. The Sebastianus Schützenverein is rooted in the Catholic fraternity tradition of the Rhineland and belongs to the Federation of Historical German Marksmen's Associations.

Düsseldorf's Marksmen Landscape

Düsseldorf has one of the densest networks of marksmen's associations in the Rhineland – almost every district has its own Schützenverein with its own festival weekend. Stockum is among the most traditional and is easily accessible via public transport (U78/U79 directly at the Aquazoo). This attracts many visitors from the neighboring districts of Lohausen, Kaiserswerth, Golzheim, and Unterrath to the festival.
