Nordstraße — Pempelfort's small shopping mile

Nordstraße is one of the liveliest shopping streets outside Düsseldorf's city centre — featuring owner-managed boutiques, cafés, restaurants, bars, and specialty shops. It is located in the Pempelfort district, one of Düsseldorf's densest and most popular neighbourhoods, situated between Hofgarten and Derendorf. The Nordstraßenfest is the annual self-presentation of this neighbourhood — the district celebrates itself, and Düsseldorf joins in.

The festival is a typical medium-sized Düsseldorf neighbourhood festival: stage programme with local bands and artists, food trucks and specialty stalls from Nordstraße's gastronomy, hands-on activities for families (face painting, bouncy castle, small stalls), pop-up stalls by retailers in front of their shops. Live music changes throughout the day — pop, indie, jazz, occasionally DJ sets.
