Two days of city festival under the Benefizianerbrücke with live music and city run
The Osterburker Brückenfest owes its name to the Benefizianerbrücke — a striking city center bridge, under and around which the entire festival grounds are spread. The organizer is the Osterburken Business Association, which organizes the festival together with local clubs and the city administration. Two days of program — combined with the traditional City Run "Run for More" on Sunday — make the Brückenfest one of the central dates in the Osterburken event calendar.
The festival starts on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 3 PM with a family afternoon. The newcomer band Take Off from Buchen/Dörzbach will kick off the music. At 5 PM, the official beer tapping under the Benefizianerbrücke will take place with the Osterburken fanfare band. Afterwards, enjoy a cozy get-together at the beer bar, drink stand, and grill station. At 8 PM, the cover band Return United takes the stage and provides live music until late into the night.
Sunday begins at 9 AM with the 16th City Run "Run for More" — various distances for children, hobby, and recreational runners through the city center and surrounding area. At the same time, Osterburken's shops will open: The Sunday shopping extends the festival grounds into the city center. Market stalls, bouncy castle, children's ride, exhibitions, and club stands accompany the day. Live music runs continuously on Sundays as well.
Osterburken is a small town with about 6,500 inhabitants in the Neckar-Odenwald district, state of Baden-Württemberg, on the border with Bavarian Bauland. The town is primarily known for its Roman fort — the Osterburken Roman Museum is one of the most important museums for the UNESCO World Heritage Site Limes. You can reach Osterburken directly by train on the Heidelberg–Würzburg line.
