A whole year of ceremonies, concerts, and anniversary highlights for the hundredth anniversary of the Music Association Seckach
Exactly one hundred years ago, in 1926, music enthusiasts in Seckach founded a small music association that is now an indispensable part of village life in the Bauland region. For its centenary, the Musikverein Seckach 1926 e.V. is going all out in 2026: a whole year of ceremonies, concerts, gatherings, and anniversary highlights. The program was conceived by the association's leadership together with the municipality of Seckach and is aimed at all generations — from the official ceremony for invited guests to living room concerts and grand gala evenings.
The actual birthday will be celebrated on the last weekend of March. On Saturday, March 28, 2026, the association invites you to the official ceremony in the Seckachtalhalle: opening of the photo exhibition '100 Years MVS', presentation of the club chronicle created especially for the anniversary, musical accompaniment by the main orchestra, and greetings from the mayor, district administrator, and friendly associations. On Sunday, March 29, 2026, the Seckachtalhalle will be open from 2 p.m. for all Seckach residents — with free admission, coffee and cake, a slideshow, and a chance to mingle. The association's annual general meeting will conclude the weekend from 6 p.m.
The musical highlight follows a few weeks later: on April 16, 2026, the Army Music Corps Veitshöchheim will perform in the Schlossgartenhalle of the Großeicholzheim district. The concert is designed as a benefit event for the local kindergarten and a regional children's hospice. A professional Bundeswehr orchestra in a village hall — this is the kind of musical gift you only give your own association for its 100th birthday.
Further program items will follow throughout the year. On June 28, 2026, the association, together with the rifle club, will host a summer festival featuring traditional brass music and performances by friendly bands from the region. On July 26, 2026, a church concert in St. Sebastian will take place with calm, contemplative music — a 'musical relaxation journey'. During Advent, the association will organize Advent singing in all four districts (Seckach, Großeicholzheim, Klinge, Zimmern), inviting residents to join in. The year will conclude on December 19, 2026, with a request concert, the program for which will be determined in advance by the Seckach population through online voting.
Seckach (District 08225, approx. 4,800 inhabitants) is located in northern Baden-Württemberg, in the Neckar-Odenwald district, on the Heidelberg-Würzburg railway line. The municipality comprises the four districts of Seckach, Großeicholzheim, Klinge, and Zimmern. With the Seckachtalhalle and the Schlossgartenhalle Großeicholzheim, it has two venues that can accommodate the anniversary year. The music association has been an integral part of the community's identity for generations — and the 2026 anniversary is as much a celebration of the association as it is a community festival.
Instead of a single festival weekend, the Music Association Seckach has organized an entire anniversary year for 2026. From the ceremony on March 28 to the gala with the Army Music Corps Veitshöchheim on April 16, and the Christmas request concert on December 19, highlights follow one after another.
The opening weekend combines a closed ceremony, the photo exhibition '100 Years MVS', the club chronicle, and an open day for the public — with coffee and cake in the Seckachtalhalle. The gala concert in the Schlossgartenhalle Großeicholzheim also serves as a benefit for the kindergarten and children's hospice.
In the summer, a summer festival will be held at the Schützenhaus, in mid-summer a meditative church concert in St. Sebastian, during Advent the brass players will parade through all four districts, and at the end of the year, Seckach residents can choose the program for the request concert via online voting.
