Marksmen Tradition in Eastern Celle

The Schützengilde Sülze (Sülze Marksmen's Guild) hosts one of the most traditional Schützenfeste on the eastern outskirts of Celle in the district of Sülze. Sülze is administratively part of the city of Celle but has retained a strong identity as a village district – the Schützenfest is an important expression of this identity.

Four Days of Festivities

The festival lasts from Thursday to Sunday and combines the classic program points of a North German Schützenfest:

• Parade through the village with marksmen, marching band, and fanfare band
• King's Shoot and King's proclamation
• Festival tent with catering, music, and dancing
• Frühschoppen on Sunday morning
• Children's festival on Sunday from 3:30 PM with its own program
• Accompanying snacks, catering, and small amusement rides

Together with Hohne and Garßen

The Sülze Schützenfest is timed to coincide with the Schützenfeste in Hohne and Garßen. This creates a packed schedule of marksmen events on the eastern outskirts of Celle on the first weekend of June – many families visit multiple festivals on the same weekend.
