For two days in July, Ormesheim's clubs and associations set up their beer benches under the old trees at Theo-Carlen-Platz and celebrate the Sommergartenfest. Live music, homemade specialities, a tombola, and a children's program make the festival the social highlight of the year in the Mandelbachtal district – right in the heart of the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau.

Sommergartenfest Ormesheim — edition 2026

The Ormesheim Sommergartenfest 2026 is expected to take place on the second weekend of July – as usual, Saturday and Sunday at Theo-Carlen-Platz. Organized by Ormesheim's clubs and associations.

The exact date and detailed program for 2026 will be published by the local clubs a few weeks before the festival via Facebook and the municipal website. In 2025, the festival took place from July 12–13; a similar weekend is expected for 2026.

By car via the A6 (exit St. Ingbert) and the L113. Parking is available on the outskirts of the village. By train to St. Ingbert or Saarbrücken, then continue by bus.

Bliesgau — UNESCO Biosphere Reserve

Ormesheim is located in the Bliesgau, one of Saarland's most beautiful landscapes – with scattered orchards, rolling hills, and small villages with baroque churches. Since 2009, the Bliesgau has been a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Those who combine the Sommergartenfest with a day trip can cycle the Bliesgau cycle path or go on hikes around the scattered orchards.

The municipality of Mandelbachtal consists of eight districts, each with its own identity and its own festivals. Ormesheim, with just under 2,500 inhabitants, is one of the larger ones – and the Sommergartenfest is its social highlight in the summer.
