A Concert Series is Born
The MVO Summernight is a novelty in the Saarland festival calendar: for the first time in 2026, the Ommersheim Music Association is hosting its own concert series in its home village. What began as an idea within the MVO is intended to sustainably enrich Ommersheim's cultural life – a new, annually recurring event that combines club life and festival culture.
Motto 'Italy' for the Premiere
The premiere year 2026 is entirely dedicated to the motto 'Italy'. Vichter Platz becomes a small Italian piazza – with Mediterranean decoration, Italian specialties (pizza, pasta, antipasti, tiramisu), refreshing drinks (Aperol Spritz, Limoncello, Italian wine), and a musical program that combines traditional brass music with modern Italian sounds.
Three Days, Three Moods
Over three days, the MVO presents its concept: Friday and Saturday feature evening events with live music, a bar, and Mediterranean flair until late at night. Sunday is Family Day – from 10 AM, the MVO invites you to a musical 'Frühschoppen' (morning pint) with its various orchestra formations: youth orchestra, active band, big band formations, or flute ensemble – the association showcases itself in all its facets.
Ommersheim Music Association — Tradition Meets New Beginnings
The Ommersheim Music Association e.V. is one of the traditional clubs in the municipality of Mandelbachtal. In addition to classical concerts and rehearsals, it regularly organizes smaller concerts and club festivals. With the MVO Summernight, it is taking on a new, larger endeavor – while retaining its club character: it is and remains a club festival, organized by volunteers, driven by club pride.
Ommersheim and Mandelbachtal — in the Heart of the Bliesgau
Ommersheim is a district of the municipality of Mandelbachtal in the Saarpfalz district. The municipality sees itself as a biosphere community within the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve Bliesgau. Strewn orchards, rolling hills, small villages with vibrant club life – Mandelbachtal is a place where Saarland-typical quality of life is concentrated. The MVO Summernight fits perfectly into this atmosphere – an open-air summer festival, far from the hustle and bustle of the big city.

The organizer is the Ommersheim Music Association e.V., which is launching a new concert series with this premiere. Free admission, food and drinks at club prices. The exact program for 2026 will be announced on the association's website and mvo-events.de.

Friday, June 5th, 2026 — Opening Night
- Evening — Opening of the first MVO Summernight
- Live music with an emphasis on Italian-Mediterranean sounds

- Italian specialties from pizza and pasta to tiramisu
Saturday, June 6th, 2026 — Main Evening
- Evening — Main concert night
- Mix of traditional brass music and modern, southern-inspired sounds
- Mediterranean atmosphere on Vichter Platz
- Bar and snacks until late at night
Sunday, June 7th, 2026 — Family Day and Frühschoppen
- 10:00 AM — Musical breakfast / Frühschoppen with the Ommersheim Music Association
- Performances by all MVO formations — youth orchestra, active band, big band
- Morning to afternoon — Family program with Italian flair
- Evening — Festival finale

Getting There
By car via the A8 or A6, exit Homburg, then take the B423 to Mandelbachtal-Ommersheim. Vichter Platz is in the town center. Parking available in the vicinity.
Public Transport
Homburg (DB) train station, then take Saarvv bus line 514 or 510 to Ommersheim. Approximately 50 minutes by public transport from Saarbrücken main station.

Free admission. Food and drinks at club prices.

Italian specialties: Pizza, pasta, antipasti, tiramisu. Italian drinks: Aperol Spritz, Limoncello, Italian wine. Bar and snacks from the Music Association and cooperating caterers. Seating under marquees and outdoors.
Families
Sunday's 'Frühschoppen' from 10 AM is ideal for families. Children's program with musical contributions from the youth orchestras.
