Advent Market for Children – and for Parents Who Finally Have Time

In Berlin's Advent calendar, the Nikolausmarkt on the Pinke-Panke Children's Farm is a small, warm exception: no glitter spectacle, no Ferris wheel, but a campfire, animals, and a craft workshop right by Pankow's Bürgerpark. The market traditionally takes place on the 2nd Sunday of Advent – usually from 2 PM to 6 PM – and is explicitly aimed at families with children. It is organized by the Pinke-Panke Children's Farm, an open and educationally supervised adventure playground for children aged 7 to 14, in operation since 1991.

Bürgerpark Pankow as a Backdrop

The Pinke-Panke Children's Farm is located on the western edge of Bürgerpark Pankow, one of the city's oldest and most beautiful public parks. The area is car-light, easily accessible on foot and by tram, and gives the market an unpretentious character: long benches around the fire, paths through the farm, no crowds. In the Niederschönhausen district (Pankow borough), the market is one of the few that consistently focuses on children – without sales pressure and without admission fees.

Note on the 2026 Edition

The date for 2026 is usually announced in late summer. The market is expected on Sunday, December 6, 2026 (2nd Sunday of Advent), 2 PM–6 PM, following the pattern of previous years.
