31st Speyer Farmers' Market — over 70 exhibitors from Speyer and the Palatinate on Maximilianstraße, with Sunday shopping and live agriculture
The 31st edition in 2026 underscores the long tradition of the Speyer Farmers' Market. What began in 1995 as a small direct marketer market has developed into one of the most important regional market events in the Palatinate. The market serves as a showcase for Palatinate agriculture and a meeting point for producers and consumers.
Over 70 exhibitors set up their stalls on Maximilianstraße between Domplatz and Heydenreichstraße. The product range covers the full spectrum of Palatinate produce: fruit and vegetables from farm gardens in the Vorderpfalz, cheese from small dairies and sheep farms, sausages from regional butchers, bread and baked goods from farm bakeries, honey from regional beekeepers, wine and sparkling wine from Palatinate wineries, cut flowers and plants. In addition, craftspeople working with wood, ceramics, and textiles present their creations.
What distinguishes the Speyer Farmers' Market from a pure direct sales event is its demonstration and accompanying program. Farmers showcase their animals — cows, sheep, goats, poultry — present harvesting machinery, and conduct demonstrations. Regional music groups perform throughout the day, straw figures decorate the pedestrian zone, and children can participate at several stations — petting animals, trying out equipment, and learning about agriculture at interactive stations.
Sunday, September 20th, 2026, is also a Sunday with open shops in Speyer's city center. From 1 pm to 6 pm, shops between Altpörtel and the Cathedral will be open, while the Farmers' Market runs all day. This combination traditionally attracts a large audience from the entire Rhine-Neckar region.
The 31st edition in 2026 continues the tradition of the Speyer direct marketer market. Over 70 exhibitors, an accompanying program with animals and machines, music, and Sunday with open shops.
The exact program for 2026 will be published by the organizer in late summer. The structure follows the proven key points of previous years.
