The Müritz Sail is a major maritime event in Waren (Müritz), located in the Mecklenburg Lake District. On Ascension weekend, the town harbour and the area around the harbour crane become a vibrant festival ground. Against the backdrop of the Müritz, the largest lake located entirely within Germany, sailors, water sports enthusiasts, and families celebrate together a festival centred around wind, water, and boats.

Live music with Dixie, Swing, Jazz, Rock, and Pop ensures a great atmosphere throughout all festival days. Admission to the main areas is free; individual activities such as sightseeing flights are subject to a charge.
Müritz Sail — edition 2026
The 24th edition of the Müritz Sail will once again bring maritime festival activities to Waren's town harbour from May 14th to 17th, 2026. Throughout the Ascension weekend, visitors can expect a packed programme of water sports, live music, and market stalls.
Highlights include dragon boat races, stand-up paddleboarding competitions, jet ski freestyle shows, e-foil board demonstrations, and sightseeing flights by seaplane. On Saturday evening, May 16th, a grand firework display will illuminate the sky over the town harbour around 10:50 PM. Admission to the main areas is free.

Getting There
Waren (Müritz) is located in the Mecklenburg Lake District and is easily accessible by train (Waren station on the Berlin–Rostock line). By car, access is via the A19 and the B192. The festival activities are concentrated in the town harbour.
Admission
Admission to the main areas of the Müritz Sail is free. Individual activities such as sightseeing flights by seaplane or the Single Cruise aboard an excursion boat are subject to a charge.
Tip
The firework display on Saturday evening around 10:50 PM can be best viewed from the harbour area and the lakeside promenade.
