Relay Race around the Müritz
The Müritz Relay Run is a running event in Waren (Müritz), Mecklenburg Lake District. The focus is on a 75-kilometer relay course around the Müritz, the largest lake entirely within Germany. The start and finish are at the Waren town harbor.
Eight Stages through the National Park
The total distance is divided into eight stages, ranging from 6.1 to 12.6 kilometers. They lead through the Müritz National Park, one of Northern Germany's largest and best-known protected areas. The course profile is gently rolling, characterized by long, slight ascents and descents. Teams consist of two to eight runners; the division of stages is up to the teams themselves. Transitions are made with a handshake, without a baton.
Müritz City Run as a Second Option
In addition to the main relay race, there is the Müritz City Run, connecting the two Müritz towns of Röbel and Waren. It starts at the Röbel/Müritz town harbor and ends at the Waren town harbor. This offers running groups of different skill levels a suitable format.
Running in a Unique Landscape
The race is organized by ESV Waren e.V. For many teams, the Müritz Relay Run is more than just a competition: the course through the national park and lake landscape makes the run a shared experience in one of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern's most beautiful regions.
Müritz Run — edition 2026
On June 27, 2026, the Müritz Relay Run will take teams of two to eight runners over 75 kilometers around the Müritz. The start is in the morning at the Waren town harbor.
The course is divided into eight stages between 6.1 and 12.6 kilometers and runs through the Müritz National Park. In parallel, the Müritz City Run takes place, connecting the towns of Röbel and Waren over approximately 28 kilometers. Registration is via strassenlauf.org.

Getting There
Start and finish are at the town harbor of Waren (Müritz), Mecklenburg Lake District. Arrive by train (Waren station) or by car via the A19 and B192.

Tip
The relay race starts early in the morning at the Waren town harbor. Teams should plan changeover points and logistics in advance.
