Volksfest in the Tegernsee-Schliersee Hinterland
Miesbach is the district town of the district of the same name (AGS 09182) in southern Upper Bavaria and is located between Tegernsee, Schliersee, and the Mangfall Valley. The Volksfest, alongside the Waitzinger Market and the Christmas Market, is one of the key events in the city's event calendar. With a duration of ten days, it fits into the tradition of the "small Wiesn" that every town in southern Bavaria cultivates with its own character.
Parade, Tapping, and Beer Tent
Traditionally, the parade on the second day marks the start: clubs, traditional costume groups, and music bands march from Brauwirt Miesbach to the festival grounds, where the beer stein is ceremoniously tapped. In the Kurz family's festival tent, there is daily changing live music with Bavarian bands. The beer tent offers around 1,500 seats and is managed by the Kurz family.
Amusement Rides and Family Program
Dodgems, Break Dance, Ferris wheel, children's carousel, and food stalls line the festival grounds. Specialties such as almonds, "Steckerlfisch" (grilled fish on a stick), and sweets characterize the culinary offerings. Family-friendly days with reduced ride prices are part of the regular program.
Kurz Festival Host Family
Yvonne and Anian Kurz run the festival tent in Miesbach and are involved as a festival host family in several Bavarian Volksfests through Festbewirtung Kurz. They can be reached for table reservations by phone and WhatsApp at 0175 8220467.
