A Folk Festival with a Lower Bavarian Soul

The Marklkofen Fishermen's Festival is one of the established events in the calendar of the Dingolfing-Landau district. For four days, the region meets on the festival grounds in Marklkofen to celebrate customs, conviviality, and the connection to local waters. The festival is jointly organized by the Kreisfischereiverein Dingolfing e.V., the municipality of Marklkofen, and the Kerscher family, who host the festival.

The Fishing Competitions at the Center

The traditional fishing competitions are the focus of the festival. The youth fishing on Saturday morning introduces youngsters to the art of angling, while the grand conservation fishing on Sunday is the sporting highlight, featuring stocking, weighing of catches, and a festive award ceremony in the afternoon.

Festival Tent, Brass Music, and Dancing

In the festival tent with Graf Arco beer, bands like the Reisbacher Musikanten provide a traditional atmosphere. In the evenings, groups like "Carambola-ge," "Only Two," or "Duo Riwa" play for dancing. A traditional procession from Marklkofen's town hall square opens the festival on Friday evening.

For the Whole Family

The afternoon for seniors on Saturday and the free children's program on Monday – with performances by kindergarten groups, free fries, and rides – make the Fishermen's Festival an event for all generations.

Accessible and Hospitable

Accessible toilets are available, and a free shuttle service for seniors can be arranged upon request.
