Advent Market in the Museum Courtyard
The "Lütten Wiehnacht" — Low German for "Little Christmas" — is an Advent market full of heart, tradition, and coastal flair. The venue is the festively decorated Museum Courtyard Zingst around the local history museum, traditionally on the first weekend of Advent. The organizer is the Kur- und Tourismus GmbH Zingst.
Craftsmanship and Culinary Delights
Lovingly decorated stalls offer handmade treasures and regional delicacies. The scent of mulled wine and hot drinks wafts across the courtyard, accompanied by bratwurst, gingerbread, and Christmas pastries. The manageable size of the market ensures a particularly cozy and personal atmosphere.
Low German Customs
A beautiful tradition makes the Lütten Wiehnacht special: In the morning, a Christmas tree is decorated for the forest animals, and in the evening, Santa Claus arrives in a festive procession. There are craft activities for children. Thus, the market combines North German customs with pre-Christmas anticipation.
Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Vorpommern-Rügen
Zingst is located on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula in the Vorpommern-Rügen district. The Museum Courtyard as a venue lends the Lütten Wiehnacht an authentic, original ambiance — far from large funfairs, but with real coastal charm.
