Funfair, trade exhibition and tent party in Löhne, Ostwestfalen
When the first steins clink on the tables at the Lübbecker Straße festival grounds in Löhne at the beginning of October, it's clear: the Löhne Oktoberfest has begun. With the 44th edition from October 2nd to 5th, 2026, the festival remains an anchor in the event calendar of the Herford district. The City of Löhne, along with local sponsors and clubs, is the organizer.
The concept is down-to-earth Ostwestfalen and yet diverse: three event strands run in parallel.
The 2026 tent party has two clearly defined musical highlights:
The organizers emphasize accessibility: dedicated disabled parking spaces, wheelchair-accessible toilets near the main paths, a rest area with medical care, and other accessible facilities for wheelchair users. During the day, the festival is clearly family-oriented with fashion shows, children's carousels, and the trade exhibition.
Löhne is located in the Herford district in North Rhine-Westphalia, between Bielefeld, Herford, and Bad Oeynhausen. The city is known as the "Furniture City" – a nod to the region's strong furniture industry. The Oktoberfest is part of a series of traditional Ostwestfalen town and folk festivals, but it stands out from the others with its Bavarian-themed tent concept.
The 44th edition combines proven elements: a Volksfest with showmen, a trade exhibition with a club stage, and two grand tent evenings with live music. Daytime operations start on Thursday and run until Sunday.
Note: Detailed daily schedules and the complete stage program for the trade exhibition will be published before the festival on loehne.de/Leben-Entdecken/Kultur-und-Freizeit/Oktoberfest. Clubs wishing to perform on the trade exhibition stage: Contact Melissa Utas — [email protected].
Tent evenings require tickets (seated and standing tickets available). Sales through several local advance booking offices and via email at [email protected].
By train: Löhne station, short walk or city bus to the festival grounds. By car: A30 exit Löhne/Bad Oeynhausen, follow signs for "Festplatz". Parking available in the surrounding area.
Tickets for the tent evenings are available from several local outlets and via email at [email protected]. Standing and seated tickets can be booked. Organizer contact: Christina Nahrwold, City of Löhne, Tel. +49 5732 100 277.
The trade exhibition is worthwhile during the day – a showcase of the region, especially for locals. If you're heading to the tent party in the evening, secure your tickets in advance.
