Four Days of Bavaria in Ostwestfalen
When the first steins clink on the tables at the Lübbecker Straße festival grounds in Löhne at the beginning of October, it's clear: the Löhne Oktoberfest has begun. With the 44th edition from October 2nd to 5th, 2026, the festival remains an anchor in the event calendar of the Herford district. The City of Löhne, along with local sponsors and clubs, is the organizer.
Three Worlds in One Festival Tent
The concept is down-to-earth Ostwestfalen and yet diverse: three event strands run in parallel.
- Funfair bustle on the festival grounds: amusement rides, carousels, showmen, stalls, and all the classics of a Volksfest (people's festival).
- Trade exhibition in the large tent: local businesses, crafts, service providers, and clubs present themselves – with a stage program featuring fashion shows, club performances, choirs, and magic shows.
- Tent party on Friday and Saturday evenings: live bands, classic Oktoberfest atmosphere with steins and Lederhosen.
Bands 2026 — Zwiebelstürmer and Gaudi-Fieber
The 2026 tent party has two clearly defined musical highlights:
- Friday, October 2nd — Zwiebelstürmer (also known as "Holy Moly"): Six musicians in traditional Bavarian attire, mixing hearty Schlager music, cult party hits, and well-known pop and rock songs. Admission 6 PM, start 7 PM.
- Saturday, October 3rd — Gaudi-Fieber (also "Crossfader") from Hameln: continuous live dance music throughout the evening. Admission 6 PM, start 7 PM.
Accessible and Family-Friendly
The organizers emphasize accessibility: dedicated disabled parking spaces, wheelchair-accessible toilets near the main paths, a rest area with medical care, and other accessible facilities for wheelchair users. During the day, the festival is clearly family-oriented with fashion shows, children's carousels, and the trade exhibition.
Löhne — The Furniture City in Ostwestfalen-Lippe
Löhne is located in the Herford district in North Rhine-Westphalia, between Bielefeld, Herford, and Bad Oeynhausen. The city is known as the "Furniture City" – a nod to the region's strong furniture industry. The Oktoberfest is part of a series of traditional Ostwestfalen town and folk festivals, but it stands out from the others with its Bavarian-themed tent concept.
