Season theme "On Wings of Song" – Max Giesinger, Joris, Mariza, Melody Gardot, Ólafur Arnalds, Bach Christmas Oratorio
With almost a hundred years of concert tradition, the BASF Kulturfabrik is one of Southern Germany's oldest and most influential concert institutions. The 2026/27 season continues this tradition under the theme "On Wings of Song", placing the human voice at its center. Lieder recitals, vocal music, choral works, and lyrical instrumental programs form the common thread of the season.
Three classical focal points shape the season. Bach's Christmas Oratorio on December 11, 2026, is the outstanding vocal music event of the year and a traditional season highlight in the Feierabendhaus. Beethoven_200 comprises nine concerts that explore Ludwig van Beethoven's work from various perspectives. Battle Vivaldi combines Baroque repertoire with breakdance – a crossover format aimed at attracting young audiences.
The program features a dense lineup of international names: Max Giesinger, Joris, the Official Blues Brothers Revue, Melody Gardot from the USA, Portuguese Fado singer Mariza, and Icelandic composer and producer Ólafur Arnalds. Additionally, Viennese clarinetist Daniel Ottensamer will give four recitals throughout the season – an exceptionally rich artist portrait rarely realized in a single season.
A special date is the world premiere of a composition featuring percussionist Leonie Klein, known internationally for expanding the percussion repertoire. The pre-Christmas period is rounded off by a concert with Palatinate dialect artist Gringo Mayer on December 17 and a communal Christmas Sing-Along on December 18, 2026.
Subscription sales for the 2026/27 season begin on May 13, 2026, and single ticket sales on May 20, 2026. Recommendation: Early booking secures the best seats, especially for Bach's Christmas Oratorio and the Beethoven_200 series.
The exact concert dates and soloist lineups will be communicated in detail in the season program booklet. The January to June 2027 part of the season will be fully published in summer 2026.
