The Lichtenrader Dorfteich as a Wine Festival Stage

Lichtenrade is one of Berlin's southernmost districts — right on the Brandenburg border, characterized by its old village green with a brick church and historic village pond. Here, in the Tempelhof-Schöneberg district, what is arguably Berlin's most charming wine festival has been taking place for years: KUNST trifft WEIN. From May 1st to 3rd, 2026 (Friday–Sunday), around 100 exhibitors will transform the area around the village pond into an open wine spring — not a mega-festival, but a lovingly curated neighborhood festival with a clearly defined profile.

Winemakers and Artisans Hand in Hand

The mix is the program: Winemakers from various German wine-growing regions — from the Mosel to the Pfalz and Franconia — stand next to artisans showcasing ceramics, jewelry, textiles, and glasswork. Examples of confirmed exhibitors: SAUERWEINS from the southern Mosel with Mosel wines and Italian imports, Winzerhof Kummer from Franconia with characteristic Silvaners and red wines, as well as the KDM Weingut. In addition, there will be stalls with chocolate, honey, arts and crafts, and regional specialties.

Music as a Moving Production

The 2026 music program focuses on two live formats: the Lenard Streicher Trio will play swinging classic jazz from 3 PM to 6 PM on the permanent stage — and the unique Krüger Rockt! format will move around the village pond from 6 PM onwards with a mobile, battery-powered sound system. Piano on a cart, double bass and guitar connected wirelessly, a small drum kit on a handcart — the rock 'n' rollers transform the area into a moving stage and are out and about from Thursday to Saturday from 6 PM.

Family & Friends e.V. — Neighborhood Culture in Lichtenrade

Behind the festival is the association Family & Friends e.V., which has been curating neighborhood culture in Lichtenrade for years — from arts and crafts markets to themed events and the Christmas market “Weihnachten in Westend” in another Berlin district. This continuous work shapes KUNST trifft WEIN: you can feel the years of expertise in staging neighborhood festivals, without the format becoming overly commercial.

KUNST trifft WEIN — edition 2026

The 2026 edition of KUNST trifft WEIN will take place from May 1st to 3rd, 2026, in Alt-Lichtenrade. Around 100 exhibitors — winemakers from Mosel, Pfalz, Franconia, and neighboring growing regions, artisans, specialty food vendors — will populate the area around the Lichtenrader Dorfteich. Live music with the Lenard Streicher Trio (3 PM–6 PM) and the mobile Krüger-Rockt!-stage (from 6 PM). Free admission.

This year's edition continues the proven concept: Wine Spring as the central theme, complemented by arts and crafts, chocolate, honey, and culinary stalls. The event runs Friday and Saturday from 12 PM to 11 PM, and Sunday until 8 PM — spread over three days, allowing visitors to taste, stroll, and enjoy without feeling rushed.

On the musical side, the program ranges from the swing classic repertoire of the Lenard Streicher Trio to the rock 'n' roll of Krüger Rockt!. The mobile concept of the Krüger troupe — piano on a cart, double bass and guitar wirelessly, small drum kit on a handcart — creates a lively atmosphere around the village pond.
