The town's Christmas market is part of the regional tradition of Ore Mountains Christmas markets but has developed its own character: curated stalls, themed areas, and a strong family focus through the 'Wichtelhaus'.

With over 30 stalls, the market is manageable — and that's intentional. Each stall is curated, with a focus on regional crafts, sweets, food, and gifts. 8 food stalls offer hearty dishes, 4 dedicated mulled wine stands offer hot drinks, plus 4 sweet stalls for cookies, chocolate, and gingerbread. Wichtelhaus, Stadl, Bergwerk

What sets the market apart from the many Advent markets in Mittelsachsen are the thematically designed areas. The 'Wichtelhaus' is housed in the converted historic town archive — featuring a model railway layout, a craft and tombola area, pony rides, and a miniature railway around the market fountain. Other festive areas are decorated as 'Stadl' and 'Bergwerk', referencing the region's mining past.
