From February 25 to March 8, 2026, the Arber Stadium near Bayerisch Eisenstein hosted the IBU Junior World Championships. Around 800 athletes from approximately 40 nations competed in the youth and junior categories. Latvia led the medal table with three gold medals; the Austrian youth mixed relay and the French men's junior relay also won gold, while the German team secured one gold and two bronze medals. 2026 was also the last year that the youth categories (U19) competed in the World Championships – from 2027 onwards, only juniors (U21) will compete.

Getting There
ARBER Hohenzollern Biathlon Stadium at Großer Arbersee, 94252 Bayerisch Eisenstein. By car via the B11 towards Bayerisch Eisenstein; Bayerisch Eisenstein train station on the Waldbahn railway. Shuttle service to the stadium on competition days.
Tickets
Day ticket 8 Euros, season ticket 35 Euros; children under 12 free. Tickets available through the DSV ticket shop and the local tourist information office.
Tip
Warm, weather-resistant clothing – the stadium is located at an altitude of around 950 m in the Bavarian Forest.
Junior World Championship in the Bavarian Forest
The ARBER Hohenzollern Biathlon Stadium at Großer Arbersee near Bayerisch Eisenstein in the Regen district is one of Germany's most traditional biathlon arenas. At an altitude of around 950 meters in the heart of the Bavarian Forest, the stadium hosted the IBU Junior World Championships – the world championship for the best junior biathletes.
800 Athletes from 40 Nations
Around 800 athletes from approximately 40 countries competed in the youth (U19) and junior (U21) categories. The program included individual races, sprints, mass start races, relays, and mixed relays for women and men. A special feature of this edition was the race day structure, organized by gender rather than age groups.
International Stage for Young Talents
