Kulturfestival Gräfelfing — edition 2026
The 2026 edition continues the tradition of biennial festival weekends since 1978. During the first week of the Bavarian summer holidays, Paul-Diehl-Park on Am Wasserbogen transforms from Thursday to Sunday into a hub of Munich's festival culture.

Four Days of Culture in the Würmtal
The Kulturfestival Gräfelfing has been held every two years since 1978 in Paul-Diehl-Park on Am Wasserbogen, in the heart of the idyllic Würmtal west of Munich. With over four decades of history, it is one of the most traditional volunteer-run cultural events in the district of Munich and the entire state of Bavaria. For four days, typically over the first weekend of August during the Bavarian summer holidays, the park becomes the stage for a multidisciplinary program.
Four Stages, One Mission
The festival thrives on its diversity: major acts perform under the open sky on the open-air stage on the slope, the circus tent offers an intimate stage atmosphere, the wine tent stage features chamber music and jazz, while the DJ tent provides a platform for young artists in house, electro, techno, trance, and hip-hop. Readings and literary soirees also take place in Café Paletti.
World-Class Bands in Pasinger Stadtpark
Over the years, renowned names such as Spider Murphy Gang, T.M. Stevens, Defunkt, Ludwig Seuss Band, Jamaram, Moop Mama, Stefan Stoppok, Richard Bona, DeWolff, and Johnny Gallagher & The Boxtie Band have graced the festival stages. In addition, there are always young bands from the region testing their stage presence here.
Tradition of Volunteering
The festival is organized entirely on a volunteer basis by the club of the same name. Hundreds of helpers from Gräfelfing and the Würmtal are responsible for setup, technical aspects, catering, and the program. Admission is and remains free – the festival is financed by sponsorships, beverage and food sales, and donations.
More Than Music
In addition to the musical program, an international food market, arts and crafts, a family area, as well as literary and cabaret contributions invite visitors to linger. The festival is designed to be barrier-light and explicitly sees itself as an intergenerational neighborhood festival that appeals to families, students, and night owls alike.
