37 Years of Haderner Dorffest
The Haderner Dorffest is one of Munich's largest and most popular district festivals. TSV Großhadern has been organizing the festival since 1987, originally founded to financially support the football club after their promotion to the Bayernliga. In 2026, the festival celebrates its 37th edition — from May 8th to 17th on Max-Lebsche-Platz on the southwestern edge of the Bavarian capital, Munich. In parallel, TSV Großhadern celebrates its 100th club anniversary.
Festival Tent, Rides, and Big Stars
The festival takes place on the central Max-Lebsche-Platz next to the Klinikum Großhadern subway terminus. At its heart is the heated TSV Großhadern festival tent with several hundred seats and a daily changing stage program. Highlights of the 37th edition include comedian Luise Kinseher with »Mary from Bavaria — endlich solo« on Sunday, May 10th, 2026, the Oktoberfest band »Nacht Stark« on Friday, May 15th, and a reunion of former footballers on opening Friday (40 years after promotion to the Bayernliga). A children's carousel, a trampoline, a beer garden, and numerous showman stalls complete the program around the festival tent.
Family Festival with Great Tradition
The Haderner Dorffest is considered the most beautiful district festival in Munich's southwest and attracts visitors from all over the greater Munich area. Originally celebrated in September, the festival moved to May in 1993 after the opening of the U6 subway line to Klinikum Großhadern — around Ascension Day and Corpus Christi. Since then, the festival has been firmly anchored in Munich's May event calendar, attracting tens of thousands of visitors annually.
Hadern and Großhadern — Munich Districts in the Southwest
Hadern (with the district of Großhadern) is a district in Munich's southwest, known primarily for the Großhadern University Hospital, one of Bavaria's largest hospitals. The U6 subway line ends here at the Klinikum station. TSV Großhadern, founded in 1926, shapes the club life of the district with football, gymnastics, and other sports. The Haderner Dorffest is the district's most important self-representation and offers a village festival experience in the middle of the big city.

37th Haderner Dorffest May 8–17, 2026
The 37th edition of the Haderner Dorffest runs from Friday, May 8th, 2026, to Sunday, May 17th, 2026, on Max-Lebsche-Platz next to the Klinikum Großhadern subway terminus. For 10 days, the festival tent, stage program, amusement rides, and showman stalls will shape Munich's southwest.
Opening on Friday, May 8th, 2026, with a reunion of former TSV Großhadern footballers — celebrating the 40th anniversary of promotion to the Bayernliga. On Sunday, May 10th, comedian Luise Kinseher will perform her show »Mary from Bavaria — endlich solo« in the festival tent. Wednesday, May 13th, is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of TSV Großhadern (founded 1926). On Friday, May 15th, the Oktoberfest band »Nacht Stark« will rock the festival tent. The festival finale on May 17th traditionally features Frühschoppen (morning pint) and a family program.

Getting There
Take the U6 subway line to the final stop Klinikum Großhadern; Max-Lebsche-Platz is directly in front of the subway exit. By car, take the Mittlerer Ring or the A96 towards Lindau, exit München-Sendling. Parking around the clinic is scarce — public transport is strongly recommended.
Admission
Free admission to the festival grounds and tent. Amusement rides and showman attractions at individual prices. Admission to Luise Kinseher's cabaret evening (May 10th) and selected concert evenings may require tickets — information at dorffest-hadern.de.
