Pasinger Vorwiesn 2026 – Five Festival Days
In 2026, the Pasinger Vorwiesn will again open its doors from the last weekend of July to the beginning of August. The marquee will be accessible as always, and the program follows the proven mix of folk festival, district celebration, and Munich Schafkopf culture.
What to Expect
Bavarian brass music, König Ludwig beer on tap, roast chicken, pretzels, pork knuckles, amusement rides for the little ones, a cozy beer garden, and the typical volunteer spirit of Pasing. For those who don't want to go to the Theresienwiese every year, this offers a family-friendly alternative.

Pasing's Own Wiesn
The Pasinger Vorwiesn is a truly Bavarian folk festival, yet still a hidden gem: While tourist crowds flock to the Theresienwiese at the end of September, Munich-Pasing celebrates its own district folk festival at the end of July. The Vorwiesn has been held for over 100 years – originally as a neighborhood festival for the independent market town of Pasing, which was only incorporated into Munich in 1938, and today as one of the state capital's most charming small folk festivals.
Festival Grounds on Silberdistelstraße
The venue is the Volksfestplatz an der Silberdistelstraße / Weinbergerstraße, directly next to the Max-Planck-Gymnasium. The marquee is accessible and can accommodate up to 2,100 guests – smaller than the big Wiesn tents, but unmistakably cozy. König Ludwig beer is served in the beer garden, and the program features Munich brass and dance music, pretzels, roast chicken, and pork knuckles.
Five Days of Program with a Munich Flair
Over the five festival days, the full Vorwiesn program unfolds:
- Wednesday: Opening with a beer tapping ceremony by the district committee chairman, followed by brass music and a relaxed start.
- Thursday: Family Day with reduced prices on amusement rides, live music, and festival atmosphere.
- Friday: Flea market on the festival grounds during the day, with a big marquee party in the evening.
- Saturday: Traditional Schafkopf championship – Pasing's hallmark – as well as special children's activities in the afternoon, and a big marquee program in the evening.
- Sunday: Vintage car meet on the festival grounds, morning pint with a brass band, family afternoon, and festival conclusion.
Schafkopf – The Bavarian Icon
A special feature of the Pasinger Vorwiesn is the official Schafkopf championship on Saturday. Schafkopf is the traditional Bavarian card game, played in numerous Munich pubs and clubs. The Pasinger Vorwiesn is one of the few folk festivals that organizes its own official Schafkopf tournament – with registration, scoring, and prizes for the best players.
Cabaret Evening with Django Asül
Following the actual folk festival, on August 3, there will be a cabaret evening with Django Asül – the Bavarian comedian presents his latest program. Tickets approx. €34, doors open 6 PM, show starts 8 PM.
Organized by Volunteers – Pasing's Hallmark
Unlike commercial mainstream folk festivals, the Pasinger Vorwiesn is organized voluntarily by the District Committee Pasing-Obermenzing and local clubs. This shapes its family-friendly character: no VIP boxes, no overpriced tickets, but a neighborhood district festival aimed at residents of Pasing and Munich from all areas.
