Two days of family fun with arts and crafts, hands-on activities, and a village flea market in the Pinneberg district
KuKuFe was launched in 2019 by dedicated residents of Kummerfeld as an association project. The Kummerfelder Kultur Festival e.V. brings together families, associations, and businesses from the community with the aim of revitalising village life through an attractive festival beyond traditional shooting festivals (Schützenfeste) and club events. The initial event in 2019 has evolved over the years into a format that transforms the sports field into a festival site for a weekend.
Saturday is dedicated to the arts and crafts market and 15 diverse hands-on activity stations. Here, visitors can craft, puzzle, play, and win — from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Free craft activities for children complement the programme; cake, crêpes, and drinks are available in the sports club house. Musically, «Die Kummis» provide entertainment (3:15 PM–3:45 PM).
Sunday is dedicated to the decentralised village flea market «Vör dien Döör» (Low German for «In front of your door»): Residents set up stalls on their own properties, and festival visitors stroll from house to house, buying, chatting, and discovering. It's a concept that turns the entire community into the festival grounds. In parallel, an open-air church service is held in the festival tent (11:00 AM–12:00 PM), crêpes are sold, and the day winds down around noon.
Kummerfeld is located in the southern Pinneberg district, in the western commuter belt of Hamburg, about a 25-minute drive from Hamburg's main train station. With around 2,500 inhabitants, Kummerfeld is a classic Lower Saxon suburban village — and KuKuFe is its cultural flagship in late summer.
The 2026 edition confirms the well-established concept: Day 1 as a festival day with stage and market, Day 2 as a village-wide flea market. Registrations for flea market stalls are accepted by the organisers via [email protected].
By car via the A23 (exit Pinneberg-Süd or Tornesch) and then on the L201. By train to Pinneberg, then take bus line 195 to Kummerfeld.
Free admission.
For stall spaces at the «Vör dien Döör» flea market on August 30, 2026, please register at [email protected]. The registration deadline will be communicated by the association before the festival.
