Over 25 Years of Town Festival with Marksmen Tradition
The Quickborn Owl and Marksmen Festival originated more than 25 years ago as a merger of the traditional marksmen festival with a modern folk festival. The town of Quickborn, with just under 22,000 inhabitants in the Pinneberg district, Schleswig-Holstein, has thus created a festival that connects generations — from the classic marksmen's brother to the young festival guest.
Two Venues, One Festival
The festival takes place at two main locations:
- The Town Hall Square with the funfair, the festival tent, and the Owl Market flea market on Saturday
- The Quickborn Leisure Lake as the venue for the lantern procession and fireworks on Friday evening
The Classic Program Schedule
Over ten days, the festival follows a proven schedule:
- Thursday — Opening Concert in the festival tent
- Friday Evening — Lantern Procession and Fireworks at the Leisure Lake
- Saturday Afternoon — Owl Market (Flea Market) in the town center, with the opening shot at 2:30 PM
- Sunday Afternoon — Citizens' King Shooting and Marksmen's Prize Shooting
- Sunday Evening — King's Proclamation and Festival Ball
Live Music and Party Concept
The musical program goes far beyond classic brass music — regionally known acts perform on the festival tent stage. In 2025, Lotto King Karl & die 4 Richtigen played with support act Edelg!ft on Friday evening, and Saturday featured a Mallorca party with a sangria atmosphere (ages 18+). This makes the Quickborn Festival one of the most youth-friendly marksmen festivals in Northern Germany.
Funfair and More
Classic funfair with rides, food stalls, shooting range, and stalls from regional clubs complement the program. The Owl Market on Saturday afternoon in the town center attracts thousands of bargain hunters — an independent major event that connects the marksmen festival with downtown retail.

2026 — The Next Edition
After 2025 (September 12-21 with Lotto King Karl on Friday and Mallorca party on Saturday), the 2026 edition is likely planned for the same September weekend. The proven program schedule remains the same — the exact lineup will be announced by the organizer, the town of Quickborn, and the Quickborn Marksmen's Association in spring 2026.

Getting There
