About KNRD Fest
KNRD Fest — edition 2026
The 2026 edition consistently continues the concept of KNRD Fest: 100% non-profit, funded by IMU and BKM, with a low entry threshold and free camping. The festival clearly positions itself against discrimination and creates a safe space for the European punk scene and its solidarity network.
Band confirmations will be gradually announced in the months leading up to the festival via the festival website. As in previous years, KNRD Fest focuses on a mix of established European punk acts and new bands, often from the regional DIY underground.

A Punk Rock Festival with Stance
KNRD Fest is one of the most uncompromising DIY punk rock festivals in Southern Germany. It takes place annually in a forest near Schnaittach in the Nürnberger Land region – a small Franconian town about 25 km northeast of Nuremberg, on the edge of the Franconian Switzerland. The non-profit association KNRD Fest e.V. is the organizer, running the festival 100% non-profit and clearly positioning itself against all forms of discrimination: "Zero tolerance towards any form of racism, sexism, fascism, homophobia, transphobia or any other discrimination."
Fair Prices, Free Camping
The festival deliberately keeps ticket prices low – an exception in today's festival landscape:
- Day Ticket (Friday or Saturday): €39
- Weekender (both days): €68
- Camping: free
Drink vouchers (beer, non-alcoholic, cocktails) are available in advance. No profit is distributed – surplus revenue flows back into the festival or into solidarity projects.
DIY Punk Ethos
KNRD Fest follows the tradition of the European DIY punk rock scene: non-commercial, by activists for activists, with a clear political stance and accessible entry. The organizers put it this way: "We want every punk rocker in our beautiful forest to feel welcome and safe – regardless of where you come from, how you look, who you love or what you believe."
Funding from IMU and BKM
The festival receives cultural funding from the Initiative Musik (IMU) and the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and the Media (BKM) – an indication that KNRD Fest is recognized beyond the local level as a significant punk rock event in Germany.
Schnaittach and Franconian Switzerland
Schnaittach is a market town in the Nürnberger Land district, located on the edge of Franconian Switzerland and the Hersbruck Alb. The forest and rock-rich landscape makes the festival forest an unusual backdrop for punk rock. Travel is mainly by car or by S-Bahn from Nuremberg.
