Solidarity neighborhood festival in Hamburg-Lurup
Lurup is a diverse district in Hamburg's Altona borough, characterized by large housing estates, long-established families, and international communities. Lurup Feiert makes this profile visible: Once a year, the Stadtteilcampus Lurup transforms into a festival mile, explicitly designed to be solidarity-driven and inclusive.
The musical program is deliberately eclectic: alternative country, SWANA-Pop (Southwest Asian / North African), North African Funk. Rotating stage acts, interspersed with DJ sets. No headliners, but a cross-section of the music scene between Hamburg, the Maghreb, and West Asia.
In addition to music, the festival features a broad participatory program:
The grounds at Stadtteilcampus Lurup, Flurstraße 15, are accessible and reachable by buses 2 and 3 – a detail prominently communicated in the festival's presentation. Free admission for everyone. In the Altona district, it's an event format that clearly sets itself apart from typical Hamburg festival operations: less showcase, more community work.
