About Kerwa Obbach
Kerwa Obbach — edition 2026
The weekend of September 12th to 14th, 2026, is marked as the Kirchweih date in the Euerbach event calendar. Traditionally, it begins with the festival evening on Friday, Saturday is characterized by the program of local clubs, and Sunday features the ecumenical church service followed by Frühschoppen, lunch, and the Kerwa wind-down.
As is customary throughout Franconia, the club landscape supports the festival: the parish, the volunteer fire department, sports clubs, and music clubs share the programming tasks. The exact schedule will be announced on euerbach.de.

Kerwa in Obbach — Customs from Main Franconia
When the grapes ripen in the surrounding vineyards in September, the village of Obbach celebrates its Kirchweih for three days. Obbach is a district of the municipality of Euerbach in the Schweinfurt district — one of those small, tradition-conscious communities where the patronal festival is still the annual social highlight.
Euerbach and Obbach in the Schweinfurt Region
The municipality of Euerbach is located in the Lower Franconian district of Schweinfurt, in the state of Bavaria, west of the major city of Schweinfurt. With its districts Euerbach, Obbach, and Sömmersdorf, it unites about 2,700 inhabitants. The rural region is characterized by viticulture, forest and meadow farming — and by a dense tradition of clubs and Kirchweih festivals.
What makes a Franconian Kerwa
Unlike the large folk festivals of the Bavarian capital, a village Kerwa stands for intimacy: People who know each other celebrate, as do the clubs and the parish. At an Obbach Kerwa, you can typically expect:
- Ecumenical festival service on Sunday
- Morning pint (Frühschoppen) in the festival tent or inn hall
- Franconian delicacies: Bratwurst, Schäufele, Sauerkraut, Bocksbeutel wines
- Live music with regional bands
- Dancing and socializing until late in the evening
Region and Surroundings
The Schweinfurt region of Main Franconia is an excellent base for a trip: The Main river valley, Franconian vineyards between Volkach and Schweinfurt, and the city of Schweinfurt itself with its Kunsthalle and historic old town are all reachable in 20-30 minutes by car. Those who want to experience a Franconian village Kerwa will find an authentic, peaceful stage here.
