59 Years of Spring Festival in Oberholzheim

Oberholzheim is a district of Achstetten in the Biberach district (AGS 08426), in Upper Swabia, about 20 kilometers south of Ulm. Here, the Music Association Oberholzheim has organized its traditional Spring Festival every spring since 1968 — one of the longest-running club festivals in the region. The 59th edition is scheduled for 2026: May 14th to 17th, 2026, traditionally from Father's Day (Ascension Day) to the following Sunday.

Thursday, May 14th, 2026 — Father's Day and Opening

The event kicks off on Father's Day (Ascension Day) with the Father's Day Frühschoppen starting at noon — the typical Swabian tradition for May 14th. Brass music, Swabian specialties (Maultaschen, Spätzle, Schnitzel, Wurstsalat), draft beer, and a relaxed family day. In the afternoon, the rides and stalls open, and in the evening, the official opening of the festival by the music association follows.

Friday, May 15th, 2026 — DIE BANDE

On Friday evening, the Schlager-rock band DIE BANDE performs — party hits, Schlager classics, and sing-along songs from the 80s and 90s. An evening for the younger generation that also fills the festival hall.

Saturday, May 16th, 2026 — Brass Music Evening with FestStadel Musikanten

Saturday evening is dedicated to the classic brass music repertoire: the FestStadel Musikanten play a mix of traditional Bohemian and Moravian brass music, Polka, Waltz, and March music. A program for fans of traditional brass music, with dancing and sing-alongs.

Sunday, May 17th, 2026 — Frühschoppen and Family Finale

The event concludes with the Sunday Frühschoppen starting in the morning — the quintessential Swabian Sunday lunch experience. Brass music from the main association (Music Association Oberholzheim), Swabian lunch, cake from the baker, coffee, and lemonade. In the afternoon, small performances by the youth music association, followed by dismantling.

A Swabian Club Institution

The Spring Festival finances the club activities of the Music Association Oberholzheim for the entire year — sheet music, instruments, performances by the youth orchestra, concerts. The association has around 50 active members and has been training young musicians in the region for decades. Anyone looking for an impression of Swabian club life will find it at the Spring Festival.
