18 summer evenings of Württemberg wine on the Rollschuhplatz
For 37 editions, the Kirchheim Wine Village has been the most important summer festival in the town of Kirchheim unter Teck — and one of the largest wine festivals at the foot of the Swabian Jura. For 18 consecutive evenings — from Thursday, July 30, to Sunday, August 16, 2026 — the town's central Rollschuhplatz will be transformed into a wine village with over a dozen wine stands, tables under pavilions, and a small stage. The event is organized by the town of Kirchheim with the participating Weinstadt hosts.
The profile of the Wine Village is thoroughly Württemberg: Riesling, Lemberger, Trollinger, Schwarzriesling, Spätburgunder, Müller-Thurgau, and Sekt from Württemberg's vineyards — from the nearby Limburg, through the Remstal and Heilbronn regions, to the classic Württemberg wines. Accompanying this is hearty food and grilled specialties: Maultaschen, Käsespätzle, Swabian Vesper, Saumagen, Rostbraten, Pizza, and sweet treats. Each stand has its own specialty — some focusing on wine and Vesper, others on hot dishes or desserts.
The Wine Village opens daily from 5 p.m. until late at night. On weekends, a small stage features live music — pop, folk, blues, jazz, Swabian classics — mostly by regional bands. Wednesdays and Thursdays are considered the region's insider tip: less crowded than Fridays and Saturdays, offering a relaxed atmosphere with regulars from the entire Filstal and Albvorland. Families will find special children's days with hands-on activities.
With around 40,000 inhabitants, Kirchheim unter Teck is the largest town in the Esslingen district outside of Esslingen itself — situated at the foot of the Swabian Jura, directly below Teck Castle and at the entrance to the Lenninger Tal. The old town, with its half-timbered houses and the 16th-century town hall, provides a historic setting. The Rollschuhplatz itself is centrally located and easily accessible by bus and on foot. Alongside the Kirchheimer Maientag and the Kelterfest, the Wine Village is one of the three major town festivals of the year.
From July 30 to August 16, 2026, the Rollschuhplatz in Kirchheim unter Teck will once again open its pavilions and tables for the traditional Wine Village at the foot of the Teck. 18 consecutive evenings — the longest wine festival run in the region.
The event is organized by the city of Kirchheim with the Weinstadt hosts — an association of Kirchheim restaurateurs and wine providers who jointly organize the Wine Village annually. Classic Württemberg wines, Swabian cuisine, live music on weekends.
