Four Days of Autumn Highlight at the Foot of the Teck

The Golden October Days are the annual autumn highlight in Kirchheim unter Teck and will take place in 2026 from Thursday, October 1st, to Sunday, October 4th, 2026. The organizer is the City-Ring Gemeinschaft Kirchheimer Handel e.V., which, together with city marketing, local businesses, associations, and sports clubs, puts together a packed program. The Kirchheim city center — Marktstraße, Schlossplatz, Max-Eyth-Straße — becomes a car-free festival mile.

Car Show: 100 New Cars in the Pedestrian Zone

A traditional hallmark of the October Days is the Car Show: Around 100 current models from Kirchheim's car dealerships will be freely accessible in the pedestrian zone. From compact cars to SUVs and sports cars — visitors can explore interiors, talk to salespeople, and arrange test drives directly. An open sales fair in the middle of the city.

Orchard Day — Regional Variety of Varieties

On Sunday, the Orchard Day is on the program: apple pressing activities, tasting of old apple varieties, cider sales, information stands from fruit and gardening associations, and nature conservation groups. The orchards around Kirchheim and in the Albvorland are one of the most important nature conservation habitats in Baden-Württemberg — the action day makes their significance visible.

Sports Day, Bike Festival, and Children's Day

On Friday and Saturday, the focus is on the Sports Day: Clubs like TSV Kirchheim, TC Kirchheim, and local martial arts clubs present their disciplines with hands-on activities. In addition, the Bike Park Festival with BMX demonstrations, stunt shows, and test tracks — a magnet for young people from all over the Albvorland. The Children's Day offers an extended program with workshops, bouncy castles, face painting, and theater performances.

Wool Market at the Castle — October 3rd and 4th

Parallel to the October Days, the traditional Wool Market takes place at Kirchheim Castle on Saturday and Sunday: around 50 exhibitors with sheep wool, dyed yarns, spinning demonstrations, felt art, and knitting patterns. The Wool Market annually attracts hobby spinners, knitters, and handicraft fans from all over southern Germany — the combination with the October Days makes the weekend a firm date in the calendar for many visitors.

Kirchheim unter Teck — Town in the Albvorland

Kirchheim unter Teck, with around 41,000 inhabitants, is a central town in the Esslingen district at the foot of the Teck — the striking castle ruin in the Albvorland. The town is a center for schools, administration, and shopping for the Albvorland and the upper Swabian Jura. The old town with Marktstraße, Rathaus, and Schloss is lovingly restored. The Golden October Days fill it with autumn life.
