Open-Air Cinema at Olympiasee

Kino am Olympiasee is one of Munich's largest and most beautiful open-air cinemas. Located directly on the Olympiasee in the Olympic Park of Bavaria's state capital, Munich, it has been in existence since 2009. For several months, the park is transformed into a summer cinema venue. The 2026 season runs from May 16 to September 14.

Films Under the Open Sky

Films are shown daily – with a short film and a main feature. From Friday to Sunday and on public holidays, there are also family screenings in the afternoon. The program is divided into various series such as Sundowner Events, Evening Shows, PLUS Events with extras, »Dancing in the Moonlight«, Live Events, Original Version Films, and the FamilyOpenAir.

Atmosphere and Comfort

Guests make themselves comfortable in cozy deckchairs and love seats on the premises. The backdrop of the Olympiasee, the park landscape, and the famous tent roof of the Olympic Park lend the film evenings a special atmosphere that a conventional cinema cannot offer.

Summer Destination in Munich

It is open daily from 5:00 PM, Fridays from 3:00 PM, and on weekends and public holidays from 1:00 PM. This makes Kino am Olympiasee much more than just a film screening: it is a meeting point for balmy summer evenings in the heart of Munich.
