Hemdingen: Pinneberg Idyll in Amt Rantzau

Hemdingen is a municipality in the Pinneberg district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein and belongs to the Amt Rantzau. With around 1,100 inhabitants, the village is located between Barmstedt and Tornesch, nestled in the hilly geest landscape of southwestern Schleswig-Holstein. The Hemdingen sports ground is home to the sports club TuS Hemdingen-Bilsen e.V. and is also the central meeting point of the community.

The Children's and Village Festival as a Summer Highlight

The Children's and Village Festival has been a firm fixture in the community's event calendar for years. It is organized jointly by the municipality, the sports club, the fire department, and other Hemdingen clubs — typical for the close-knit club culture of a small Schleswig-Holstein community.

SPOG: Games Without Borders

The highlight for the children is the SPOG — Games Without Borders. Inspired by the TV format Jeux sans frontières (Games Without Borders) from the 1960s to 1990s, children compete in teams in several quirky skill and fun disciplines — from water bucket races to obstacle courses with hopper balls. A classic of North German village festival culture that brings smiles to children's faces every year.

Family Program and Catering

In addition, the festival offers bouncy castles, face painting, craft activities, prize draws, and a participation competition for younger children. Lunch and dinner are served by the sports club and the Hemdingen Country Women — salads, sausages, homemade cakes. In the evening, there is dancing to music on the sports ground or in the festival tent.
