The Children's and Village Festival of the municipality of Hemdingen is the annual summer highlight of the small Pinneberg community in the Amt Rantzau. The venue is the central sports ground, where a diverse family program will be offered on August 22, 2026: in the morning, the SPOG — Games Without Borders, the classic for children with skill, competition, and participation stations —, plus bouncy castles, face painting, craft activities, and the traditional communal meal with salads, barbecue, and cake. In the afternoon and evening, the actual village festival follows with live entertainment, catering, and dancing. Families, clubs, and residents from Hemdingen and neighboring communities meet for a carefree summer day.

On Saturday, August 22, 2026, the municipality of Hemdingen invites you again to the annual Children's and Village Festival on the sports ground. The call for registration of children's teams for games, fun, and SPOG has already been communicated via the municipal website.

The program follows the proven concept: in the morning, children's game stations, at noon the big SPOG competition, parallel bouncy castles, face painting, craft activities, and lunch. In the afternoon, a raffle, club performances, and live entertainment. In the evening, a village gathering with dancing and catering — a typical mix of children's festival and village festival.

Getting There

You can reach Hemdingen via the A23 (exit Tornesch, then approx. 5 km north) or the B432. By train to Tornesch or Barmstedt and from there by bus or car to Hemdingen.

Hemdingen: Pinneberg Idyll in Amt Rantzau

Hemdingen is a municipality in the Pinneberg district in the state of Schleswig-Holstein and belongs to the Amt Rantzau. With around 1,100 inhabitants, the village is located between Barmstedt and Tornesch, nestled in the hilly geest landscape of southwestern Schleswig-Holstein.
