About Lutzhorn Village Festival

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, the municipality of Lutzhorn invites you to the classic Children's and Village Festival. From 1:30 PM, the Grotenkamp 1 school grounds will offer a program for all generations: The Zwergentreff kindergarten team organizes game stations with changing themes, schoolchildren test their skills at club stations, adults meet at the beer table — plus pony rides and the popular human foosball game. Three generations, one afternoon — the village festival combines family, club life, and neighborly conviviality in the small Pinneberg community.

Three Generations, One Festival

The Lutzhorn Children's and Village Festival is structured according to a clear generational concept. For the youngest, the Zwergentreff kindergarten team organizes game stations, which have a different theme each year — a conceptual trick that keeps the festival interesting. For the primary school children, local clubs offer skill stations where children can compete and win small prizes. For the adults, a social meeting point is created at the beer stand with snacks, refreshments, and relaxed conversations.

The Fixed Highlights

In addition to the standard program items, two special attractions characterize the festival:

  • Pony rides — a popular program item for the youngest
  • Human foosball — an oversized table football game where players act as "figures" on an inflatable playing field — popular across generations

Food includes ice cream, hearty snacks, soft drinks, and beer.

Volunteering as a Pillar

Like many North German village festivals, the Lutzhorn Children's and Village Festival relies on the volunteer work of local clubs: the fire department, sports club, kindergarten, and women's group. They are responsible for the setup, the stations, and the catering — thereby creating that special sense of community that redefines the festival each year.

In the Pinneberg District

Lutzhorn is a small municipality in the Amt Rantzau district of Pinneberg in the state of Schleswig-Holstein — about 30 km northwest of Hamburg. Its location on the edge of Hamburg's commuter belt shapes the village: a small population, but strong commuter connections and lively club life. The Children's and Village Festival is one of the central dates in the summer calendar here.

Festival Wind-Down

After the afternoon program, the festival winds down in a relaxed atmosphere around the beer stand — conversations, music from a speaker, and the typical village character of a North German summer festival characterize the late afternoon and early evening.

Lutzhorn Village Festival — edition 2026

The Lutzhorn Children's and Village Festival 2026 starts on Saturday, June 27 at 1:30 PM at Grotenkamp 1. Game stations from the Zwergentreff kindergarten team, skill games on the school grounds, pony rides, and human foosball. Food with ice cream, snacks, and drinks.

The 2026 Edition

As every year, the municipality of Lutzhorn invites its residents to the family festival on the last Saturday in June — in 2026, this falls on June 27. The program follows the proven three-generation logic with clear program items for kindergarten children, primary school children, and adults.

The Zwergentreff Concept

The Zwergentreff kindergarten team chooses a theme each year under which the game stations for the youngest are put together. These themes vary from nature park and animal world themes to fantasy and fairy tale motifs.
