Kiez Burn 2026
Burning Man-inspired community festival in Brandenburg — a week of temporary utopia an hour from Berlin
2026
About Kiez Burn
Kiez Burn — edition 2026
Seven-Day Temporary City
The 2026 edition runs for seven full days — longer than most festivals in Brandenburg. Participants build a temporary city over this week: theme camps with their own bars, sound systems, workshops, and performances. The central organization, Kiez Burn e.V., provides only infrastructure (toilets, water, awareness) and curates the art program.
The 2026 edition has been completely sold out since early 2026 — a sign of the festival's growing importance in the international Burner community.

On Site — Burning Man Principles
Radical self-reliance: everyone brings their own water, food, tent. Gifting economy: no monetary transactions, nothing is sold. "Leave No Trace": no trash is left behind. "No Spectators": everyone is a participant. Workshops, art installations, theme camps are developed and provided by the participants themselves.
Kiez Burn — Burning Man Principles in the Mark Brandenburg
Kiez Burn is one of the best-known European Burning Man "Regional Events" — festivals that apply the principles of the Burning Man festival (Black Rock Desert, USA) to another region. The ten principles — radical self-reliance, gifting economy, self-expression, communal effort, civic responsibility, "No Spectators", "Leave No Trace", among others — form the programmatic foundation. Unlike commercial festivals, Kiez Burn is not passive entertainment, but active participation: everyone is a participant, no one is just a consumer.
Seven Days of Temporary City
The 2026 edition runs for seven days — from Tuesday, June 23rd, to Monday, June 29th, 2026. Over a week, a temporary city emerges on the grounds of the Niedergörsdorf Go-Kart and Leisure Centre, featuring camps, art installations, workshops, and performances. The approximately 800–1,000 participants bring everything themselves — from tents and yurts to sound systems and theme camps. The central organization provides only the infrastructure: toilets, water, security, and awareness structures.
Tickets — Economic Model of the Gifting Economy
Three ticket tiers: Regular €135 as the standard price, Reduced €65 for low-income individuals (application with justification required), VIP (suggested price) as a voluntary donation that finances reduced tickets and art support. The 2026 edition has been sold out since early 2026 — typical for a festival with limited capacity and growing recognition. Tickets are non-transferable.
Niedergörsdorf — New Festival Location
Niedergörsdorf is a municipality in the Teltow-Fläming district, about an hour's drive south of Berlin. The Altes Lager Go-Kart and Leisure Centre offers an extensive area with infrastructure — ideal for a temporary festival city. Unlike commercially marketed festivals, Kiez Burn traditionally keeps the location of its venue relatively discreet. It is explicitly a "secret forest, about an hour or so away from Berlin".
In the State of Brandenburg and the International Burner Community
Kiez Burn is part of the international Burner community — connected with Nowhere (Spain), Eclipse (Switzerland), Borderland (Sweden), and many other European "Regional Burns". The festival has established itself in Brandenburg since 2017 and is now one of the most prominent community festivals between Berlin and Lusatia — an independent festival culture that prioritizes active participation and temporary community over commercial entertainment.
