International Cheese and Gourmet Mile in the West Allgäu
The International Cheese & Gourmet Festival Lindenberg is one of the most famous enjoyment festivals in the Allgäu. Lindenberg im Allgäu, the mountain town in the Lindau district in the Swabia region, is traditionally associated with dairy farming and cheese production. On a late summer weekend, the town square and the main street are transformed into a sprawling gourmet mile.
Approximately 80 exhibitors from numerous European countries present their specialties – including producers from Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Ireland, the Netherlands, Hungary, and even Morocco. The focus is on cheese in many variations, as well as delicacies for tasting and enjoyment. Combined tastings around the town square invite discovery.
Live music on two stages ensures a great atmosphere on both festival days. For children, there are free goat carriage rides, a carousel, and a colorful play area, making the festival attractive for families too.
