Free admission open-air festival in the Stadtpark with regional and national bands
The Parknacht-Festival is the musical summer highlight of Lindenberg im Allgäu. In the spacious Stadtpark right in the center of the Westallgäu town, an open-air stage is set up for one evening – with free admission and a wide range of styles between Pop, Rock, Indie, Ska, and Hip-Hop.
For years, the organizers from Kultur & Tourismus Lindenberg have focused on a deliberately relaxed atmosphere. Instead of a classic festival site, the Parknacht-Festival uses the lawns and paths of the Stadtpark: families picnic in front of the stage, teenagers dance directly in front of it, parents and grandparents enjoy the Big Band opening with a glass of wine. The concept combines a city festival, an open-air concert, and a cozy summer evening.
The line-up attracts regional and national bands. The opening is usually by the Big Band of the Lindenberg Gymnasium, followed by newcomers and professional acts from southern Germany. In recent years, the stage has featured, among others:
Lindenberg's restaurateurs serve guests regional dishes and drinks. From Allgäu cheese bread to burgers and vegetarian options, to cool beer and white wine spritzers, everything is available – bringing your own alcoholic beverages is not permitted on the festival grounds.
Lindenberg im Allgäu, located in the Lindau district at almost 800 meters altitude, was once the largest hat-making town in Germany. Today, the town is a vibrant medium-sized center between the Allgäu Alps and Lake Constance, with the modern German Hat Museum, Skywalk Allgäu, and a rich event calendar. The Parknacht-Festival is part of a series of summer events that have established Lindenberg as a cultural center of the Westallgäu region.
The Parknacht-Festival 2026 will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 4 PM to midnight in the Stadtpark Lindenberg. Five bands will be presented on the festival stage, spanning various genres: from Big Band and Indie to Rock, Ska, and Hip-Hop fusions.
Traditionally, the opening will feature the young bands from the Lindenberg music school and the Big Band of the Lindenberg Gymnasium. The main part of the evening will feature national acts like Unlimited Culture and John Leon & Escalation. Lindenberg restaurateurs will cater to guests with Allgäu specialties and drinks; alcohol brought from outside is not permitted on the festival grounds.
The free event is conceived as a city festival with a musical focus – a relaxed summer evening for all generations under the old trees of the Stadtpark.
