Two Municipalities, One Sunday
The Heuberg-Erlebnis-Sonntag is a joint major event of the two neighboring municipalities of Gosheim and Wehingen in the Tuttlingen district, Baden-Württemberg. Located on the high plateau of the Swabian Heuberg, the two towns traditionally combine their strengths: Wehingen hosts the flea market, Gosheim the legendary soapbox derby, and both municipalities open their shops for an open Sunday.
The Heuberg Flea Market in Wehingen
With its 19th edition in 2026, the Heuberg Flea Market is one of the region's best-known private flea markets. Several hundred individuals offer their treasures on the streets of Wehingen's town center – strictly flea market goods, no commercial stalls, no dealers. This strict rule is precisely what makes it so appealing: here, you can still find genuine finds from attics and cellars, from old traditional shirts to grandmother's sewing machines. The stall fee is five euros per running meter; registration must be in writing by mid-August.
The Gosheim Soapbox Derby
In parallel, the 17th Soapbox Derby races down the sloping main street in Gosheim. Self-built vehicles of all shapes and colors, from classic wooden carts to thematically decorated fun boxes, compete against each other in several classes. For the spectators lining the track, it's the most entertaining spectacle of the day – with a significant adrenaline factor for the young and adult pilots alike.
Open Sunday and Shuttle Service
Between 12 PM and 5 PM, the shops in both municipalities open their doors for an open Sunday. To ensure visitors can easily travel between Gosheim and Wehingen, a free shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes between the two town centers. Local clubs provide food and drinks with catering stands: Swabian classics like Maultaschen, Rote Wurst (red sausage), cakes, and coffee, along with beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
Heuberg Mentality
What makes the Heuberg-Erlebnis-Sonntag special is the collaboration of two essentially independent municipalities for a major event. On the Heuberg plateau, characterized by wind and vastness, between the Swabian Jura and the Black Forest, a classic village Sunday becomes a regional highlight. Many visitors come from the greater Tuttlingen, Rottweil, and Spaichingen areas, some even from Switzerland.
