Four-day football tournament and festival weekend on Pentecost weekend on the Kirchberg
The Heubergwanderpokal is a traditional football tournament of the Heuberg region, hosted each Pentecost weekend by one of the participating clubs. In 2026, SV Bubsheim 1922 e.V. is the host — the tournament takes place on the festival grounds at Kirchberg in Bubsheim. Over four days, the clubs of the Heuberg compete in several rounds for the challenge cup, while a festive program with live music, catering, and social events accompanies the proceedings.
The participating teams come from the communities of the Heuberg — a high-lying plateau in the Swabian Jura between 800 and 1,000 meters above sea level:
The tournament features both junior and senior competitions; games are played with preliminary rounds and finals throughout the entire Pentecost weekend.
The tournament is accompanied by a packed supporting program in the festival tent:
The sports club Bubsheim was founded in 1922 and has been the sporting center of the community for over 100 years. In addition to football, it offers tennis, gymnastics, and other sports. The Heubergwanderpokal is the club's major annual event when it's Bubsheim's turn to host — hundreds of helpers from the club and the community are involved.
Bubsheim is a municipality with around 1,050 inhabitants on the Heuberg — a high-lying plateau in the south of the Swabian Jura, in the Tuttlingen district. It is characterized by its sparse landscape, harsh climate, small, closely-knit village communities, and a strong tradition of clubs and folk festivals. The best way to get there is via the B14 (Spaichingen–Tuttlingen) and L433 to Bubsheim.
From Friday, May 22nd to Monday, May 25th, 2026, SV Bubsheim 1922 e.V. will host the Heubergwanderpokal on the festival grounds at Kirchberg in Bubsheim. Four days of football with teams from the entire Heuberg region (Böttingen, Kolbingen, Renquishausen, Königsheim, Reichenbach, Irndorf/Bärenthal, Egesheim, Mahlstetten/Dürbheim), accompanied by a packed festival program with live bands.
The challenge cup is passed among the participating clubs — whoever wins the final on Pentecost Monday gets to keep it for a year and hosts the following year.
Detailed match schedules and lineups will be published before the tournament on the SV Bubsheim website and in the club's own app.
