A Metal Night in a Historic Warehouse

Heavy Harder Harbour XV — HHH for short — is the 15th edition of a concert series that Speicher Husum e.V. organizes several times a year at irregular intervals. The venue is the Speicher Husum on Hafenstraße — a historic warehouse building on the town's inner harbor, which has served as a socio-cultural center since the 1990s. Concerts, theater, readings, and political events are held here, supported by a volunteer-run association.

The Speichergruppe Rettungsboot

The metal series is organized by the Speichergruppe Rettungsboot — a subgroup within Speicher Husum e.V. dedicated to harder music. Over the years, the group has made a name for itself far beyond Husum: the HHH nights are firmly anchored in the North German metal scene, and bands from all over Schleswig-Holstein, Hamburg, Lower Saxony, and Denmark regularly play here.

Genre Spectrum

The HHH series covers the entire spectrum of heavy music — from classic Hard Rock and Heavy Metal to Death Metal and Thrash Metal, and even Post-Black-Metal with atmospheric influences. Past editions featured bands like ABROGATION (German-language metal, cult since 1999), EXTINCT (Thrash Metal, Kiel), FÅL (atmospheric Post-Black-Metal with ties to North Frisian mythology), and STAHL (Death-/Thrash-Metal from Ahrensburg). The lineups are deliberately mixed — from established acts to newcomer bands, often with regional roots.

The 666 Constellation

The date of the XV edition is no coincidence: 26.06.2026 — thus 2+6+0+6+2+0+2+6 = 24 — is ironically celebrated by the organizers as the "666 constellation" (the date contains the number 6 three times). The series humorously embraces the classic metal cliché, making the evening a small insider celebration for the scene.

Husum — The Grey Town by the Sea

Husum is a town of around 24,000 inhabitants in the North Frisia district and the region's main center. Known as the "Grey Town by the Sea" thanks to Theodor Storm, it has established itself as a cultural hub in recent decades — with theaters, museums, and the Speicher Husum as an alternative center. The inner harbor with its warehouses, shrimp boats, and café terraces offers one of the most beautiful cityscapes on the Schleswig-Holstein North Sea coast.
