Tip
Those who wish to experience the 2027 jubilee (100 years) in grand style should plan accommodation in the region now — club anniversaries in the Sauerland-Ruhrtal transition area are popular and attract marksmen from the entire Kreis Unna.
Schützenfest Ruhrtal Warmen — Tradition Ahead of the Anniversary
The Schützenverein Ruhrtal e.V. is one of the traditional marksmen's clubs in the southern Sauerland transition area. The annual marksmen's festival took place from May 16th to 18th, 2026, in the club's own Schützenhalle Ruhrtal in Fröndenberg-Warmen — three days of events following the classic pattern of Westphalian marksmen's festivals. Next year will be special: in 2027, the club will celebrate its 100th anniversary with a grand jubilee marksmen's festival.
2026 Program — Three Days of Marksmen's Culture
The classic program ran over the extended weekend:
- Saturday, May 16th — Festival kickoff with assembly of the marksmen and evening celebration
- Sunday, May 17th — High mass, grand parade through Warmen, bird shooting, proclamation of the king
- Monday, May 18th — Honors and a relaxed conclusion
New King: Mike Heinisch
The decision was made during the bird shooting on Sunday — 28-year-old Mike Heinisch won the royal title for 2026/27, succeeding the previous King and Queen Bjarne Schlender and Norah Beyer. Mike Heinisch will hold his royal year until the bird shooting in 2027 — leading up to the 100th-anniversary marksmen's festival. A special constellation that further enhances the prestige of the royal title.
Schützenhalle Ruhrtal — Own Festival Hall Since 2022
Since 2022, the Schützenverein Ruhrtal has celebrated its festival in its own festival hall in Fröndenberg-Warmen — previously, the Schützenhalle in Warmen was used. The club's own hall allows for a more flexible program, private festival evenings without external scheduling dependencies, and a central hub for the club.
Fröndenberg-Warmen — Marksmen's District in the Ruhrtal Valley
Warmen is one of the districts of the town of Fröndenberg/Ruhr in the Kreis Unna district — the southern transition from the Ruhr area to the Sauerland. The Ruhr river flows directly through the town, and the Warmen district is located on the Ruhrtal valley slope. The marksmen's tradition is deeply rooted here — several marksmen's clubs in the town (Fröndenberger Schützenbund) coordinate their dates.
100 Years of Schützenverein Ruhrtal — Preview of 2027
In 2027, the club will celebrate its 100th anniversary — a grand jubilee marksmen's festival is planned from May 21st to 23rd, 2027. Mike Heinisch, as the reigning king, will help shape the jubilee, after which the crown will pass to the jubilee king. The 2027 jubilee will undoubtedly be the biggest day in the club's history.
