Whitsun festival on the Mühlenberg of the Windmill Town
The Woldegk Mill Days are the big Whitsun festival of the small Windmill Town in the Mecklenburg Lake District. For three days, celebrations take place on the Mühlenberg around the Mill Museum — the area where Woldegk once had over twenty windmills and where five historic mills still justify the name "Windmill Town" today. The festival is organized by Becker Event in cooperation with the town of Woldegk.
Whit Saturday is all about family and volunteering. The mayor opens the festival at 11 AM, after which DJs and live bands like SEESIDE and the party duo RAGADINGDONG will get the party started. Crafts and art stalls, a cake bazaar for a good cause, amusement rides, a Ferris wheel, and bouncy castles attract visitors of all ages. The day concludes with a grand fireworks display around 11 PM.
Whit Sunday is dedicated to the famous Mill Night: From 7 PM to 3 AM, the Mühlenberg transforms into an open-air dance floor. The party band "Right Now", DJ Alex, and the electro duo "Anstandslos & Durchgeknallt" ensure a night of dancing under the open sky.
On Whit Monday, Woldegk celebrates the actual Mill Day — known nationwide as German Mill Day. After a church service at 9:30 AM and the official opening at 11 AM, the musical highlight follows: Schlager star Daniela Alfinito performs in the afternoon, followed by cult star Schäfer Heinrich. The historic windmills are open and accessible on this day.
Woldegk is located in the south of the Mecklenburg Lake District, near the border with Brandenburg. The Mill Days combine Northern German folk festival tradition with the industrial heritage of windmill milling and are among the most popular Whitsun events in the region.
From May 23 to 25, 2026, Woldegk will celebrate its Mill Days around the Mill Museum on the Mühlenberg.
