Equestrian Sport in Grabfeld

The Summer Riding Tournament of RFV Großbardorf is a fixture in the Lower Franconian equestrian calendar. The organizer is the Reit- und Fahrverein Großbardorf e.V. (Riding and Driving Club Großbardorf), which has existed for over 50 years in Großbardorf in the Rhön-Grabfeld district and operates its own riding facility on the outskirts of the town.

Facilities and Disciplines

Riding takes place on the club's own arenas, covered with white sand. According to the club, the facility includes:

• Dressage Warm-up Arena 40x50 m
• Jumping Arena 50x75 m
• Jumping Warm-up Arena 40x50 m

The program includes competitions in dressage and show jumping at various performance levels. Registration, as is customary in German equestrian sport, is via nennung-online.de; the official schedule is published on the club's website before each tournament.

Two Tournament Weekends Per Year

The club hosts two tournament weekends per season. The Summer Tournament in July opens the season; the larger Riding and Jumping Tournament at the end of August (2026: August 27–30) follows as the season highlight. Both tournaments are regionally known – results are published on rimondo.com.

Großbardorf in Grabfeld

Großbardorf is a small municipality in the Rhön-Grabfeld district in Lower Franconia (Bavaria), located between Bad Königshofen and Bad Neustadt an der Saale. Despite its manageable size, Großbardorf is well-known far beyond the Grabfeld region – not only for its riding club but also for the football club TSV Großbardorf, which has played in the Regional and Bayern leagues. Equestrian sport has traditionally been part of the village's summer program in the region.
