Wine Festival in Germany's Oldest Wine Town
Hammelburg is considered Germany's oldest wine town, and the Hammelburg Wine Festival is one of the most traditional festivals in this Lower Franconian town in the district of Bad Kissingen. The 1. FC 1913 Hammelburg has been organizing the festival on the historic marketplace since 1965.
Wine, Beer, and Kettle Meat
The focus is on wines from Hammelburg vineyards, complemented by draft beer and Franconian delicacies. A highlight is the traditional kettle meat meal (Kesselfleischessen) with blood and liver sausage and sauerkraut.
Music and Rathauskeller Bar
Live bands, the Hammelburg town band, and mood music accompany the festival. In the evenings, the bar in the Rathauskeller opens with a DJ and live acts, extending the festivities late into the night.

The Hammelburg Wine Festival is accessible with free admission and is a meeting point for the entire region. The official opening with the wine princess and the mayor is one of the fixed program points.

60th Edition 2026
In 2026, the Hammelburg Wine Festival celebrates its 60th edition. From Friday, July 17, to Monday, July 20, 1. FC 1913 Hammelburg invites you to the marketplace for Franconian wine, draft beer, and kettle meat (Kesselfleisch). The official opening with the wine princess and the mayor will take place on Saturday at 8 PM.
Music and Rathauskeller Bar
The Hammelburg town band will play on Sunday evening, and the duo Con Brio will provide the festival finale on Monday. In the evenings, the Rathauskeller bar will be open with ELOTAIL and a DJ.
