About Fasnetsumzug Singen
Fasnetsumzug Singen — edition 2026
Singen Carnival Parade 2026
On Saturday, February 14, 2026, the Großer Fasnetsumzug Singen will take place — the highlight of the Swabian-Alemannic Carnival on the western shore of Lake Constance. Around 70 groups from Hegau, Bodensee, Schwarzwald, Baar, and Switzerland are participating — jester guilds with traditional Häs figures, witches, Hänsele, Guggenmusiken, and music bands.
The motto for 2026 is „All's bliebt andersch!!“ — a typically Swabian-Alemannic inversion. The parade is part of a full Carnival Saturday with Fastnachtsverbrennen and the Singemer Fasnetsnacht afterwards.

Organizer
Poppele-Zunft Singen 1860 e.V. — oldest jester guild on the Hochrhein, member of the Association of Swabian-Alemannic Jester Guilds (VSAN).
The Poppele-Zunft 1860 — Tradition for over 165 years
The Poppele-Zunft Singen 1860 e.V. is one of the oldest and largest jester guilds in the Swabian-Alemannic region. Founded in 1860, it now organizes the entire Singen Carnival and is a member of the Association of Swabian-Alemannic Jester Guilds (VSAN). The namesake is the „Poppele“ — a legendary figure from Hohenkrähen, the castle ruin in the neighboring Hegau region. The guild preserves traditional Häs figures (Hänsele, Hoorige, Hexen) and gives the Singen Carnival its unmistakable character.
The Parade — 70 Groups from Hegau, Bodensee, Schwarzwald
With around 70 participating groups, the parade is one of the largest in the Southern German Carnival season. Jester guilds and Guggenmusik from the entire Hegau-Bodensee region march along, complemented by guests from the Black Forest, Baar, and Switzerland. Characteristic are the traditional Häs (costumes): historical jester figures with hand-carved wooden masks, old traditional clothing, witches with long brooms, „Hoorige“ with straw masks. In addition, there are modern witch guilds and Guggenmusik bands with their typical brass music. The parade covers several kilometers through the city center, traditionally starting at 2:15 PM at Hohgarten in Singen's city center.
Fastnachtsverbrennen and Singemer Fasnetsnacht
After the parade, two more highlights follow in the late afternoon and evening: the traditional Fastnachtsverbrennen — the symbolic burning of the „Fasnet“ as the oldest ritual marking the end of Carnival — and from 8 PM onwards, the Singemer Fasnetsnacht, an extended festive night in the city center with dancing, music, and pub crawls. From 2026 onwards, the Singen Carnival will carry the motto „All's bliebt andersch!!“ — a typically Swabian-Alemannic inversion of life's circumstances.
Singen (Hohentwiel) — Hegau City at the End of Lake Constance
Singen am Hohentwiel (Konstanz district, AGS 08335) is the second-largest city on the western shore of Lake Constance with around 48,000 inhabitants, dominated by the mighty volcanic cone of the Hohentwiel with its fortress ruins. The city is located in the Hegau, one of Southern Germany's volcanically shaped landscapes, at the transition between the Black Forest and Lake Constance. The Singen Carnival is part of the Swabian-Alemannic Carnival — unlike the Rhenish Carnival with its princes and court ladies, historical jester figures, witches, and Guggenmusik characterize the scene here.
