Singen (Hohentwiel), the industrial city of 50,000 inhabitants at the foot of the famous Hohentwiel volcano, is the gateway to the Hegau volcanic landscape and the western Lake Constance. From December 3rd to 23rd, 2026, Rathausplatz in the heart of the city center will be transformed into a Christmas market that consciously positions itself as an alternative to the large-scale markets on Lake Constance: smaller, more sustainable, more personal.

A Market with a Sustainable Approach

For several years now, the Singen market has consistently focused on sustainability. The Christmas tree at the entrance on Rathausplatz is decorated not with plastic baubles, but with natural materials from the region — pine cones, straw stars, felt appliqués. The covered catering area has been redesigned, and the mulled wine garden invites visitors to linger in a cozy atmosphere. A restored historic children's carousel from the 1950s is located in the children's area and is a charming attraction for the youngest guests.

Associations, Schools, Choirs — The Local Program

A small stage at Rathausplatz is reserved for Singen's associations, schools, kindergartens, and choirs. They use the three weeks for performances: the brass band of the city church, children's church music, dance groups, school orchestras, and gospel choirs take turns. This local stage makes the market a collective Advent celebration for the Singen community.

The Singen Christmas Market is just a five-minute walk from the train station and is connected to high-speed ICE train services (IC Singen — Stuttgart, IC Singen — Karlsruhe). Three parking options are available: the Stadthalle parking garage (200 spaces), the Zentrum Gambrinus underground car park (140 spaces), and the free Offwiese parking lot (350 spaces). This makes Singen ideal for a compact Advent excursion from the Lake Constance region, Schaffhausen canton, or the southern Black Forest.
