Ten Days of Funfair in the Port City
The Bremerhaven Spring Fair is the classic event with which the city of Bremerhaven kicks off the funfair season every year. For ten days, the spacious car park at the Stadthalle is transformed into a colourful world of rides, stalls, and glittering lights. Directly in front of the striking brick facade of Wilhelm-Kaisen-Platz, the Ferris wheel shines over the city centre late into the night.
Rides and Highlights
Confirmed for the 2026 edition are eight major rides: the swing ride Air Power, the shake ride Commander, the break dance ride Dancer, the mini roller coaster Zombie Coaster, the Ferris wheel Lounge 360, the music express Troika, the amusement ride Fuzzy's Laugh Salon, and the bumper car attraction Top In. These are joined by classic children's carousels, Spider Jump for the little ones, and around a hundred stalls selling crêpes, candied almonds, bratwurst, doughnuts, liquorice, and game stalls throughout the fair week.
Fireworks and Family Day
Three fireworks displays crown the event: on the opening Friday, May 1st, and on the following two Fridays, each around 10:15 PM over Wilhelm-Kaisen-Platz. Wednesday, May 6th, is the official Family Day with reduced prices on most rides — perfect for a relaxed afternoon with children.
Local Context
The Spring Fair has been anchoring Bremerhaven's city life in the city centre for generations. In the state of Bremen, it is one of the most important dates in the showmen's season, alongside the Bremer Freimarkt and the showmen's association programme, and attracts a diverse audience from the entire Weser estuary every year.

The 2026 edition of the Bremerhaven Spring Fair ran from May 1st to May 10th, 2026, in the Stadthalle car park. Opening on Friday, May 1st, at 2:00 PM; official ceremony at 6:00 PM for invited guests; first fireworks display around 10:15 PM. Second fireworks display on Friday, May 8th, also around 10:15 PM. The 67th Bremerhaven Spring Fair 2026 transformed the Stadthalle car park (Wilhelm-Kaisen-Platz) into a ten-day spring funfair from May 1st to May 10th, 2026. Organiser: Arbeitsgemeinschaft Bremerhavener Märkte e.V., with 67 showman businesses on a fenced fairground.

By train to Bremerhaven Hauptbahnhof, then a few minutes' walk or by bus lines 501–509. By car via the A27 (exit 7), parking available between Stresemannstraße and Hinrich-Schmalfeldt-Straße.
